Christmas String Quilt – Weihnachtstischdecke
|Rechtzeitig zum 2. Advent und bei schönstem Schneetreiben draußen fertiggestellt :)
Just in time and finished while outside was busy snow falling :)
The blocks are sewn on paper. Inspired by this quilt: Ruby String Quilt – Film in the Fringe I would never ever sew a big quilt this way! Ripping out the paper lasted forever! oO
Das Quiltmuster soll Schneetreiben symbolisieren. z.T. sehr stark verweht ;) aber ich mag das Ergebnis. Dank unerschöpflicher Flickr-Fotoflut bin ich hier fündig geworden mit einem passenden Design.
The quilting should remind me of snow swirls – swirled a lot! ;) I like the result. Thanks for the never ending pictures on Flickr I found this quilting design.
Stoffe/Fabrics:
Kona Cotton White
Riley Blake, Alpine Wonderland – Poinsettia in green

Ich wünsche euch einen schönen 2. Advent – ich genieße ihn mit meinen Liebsten :*
I wish you all a happy second Advent – I enjoy mine with all my beloved :*
Die ist ja super geworden.
Süße Kätzchen ;-)
Liebe Grüße Grit
Beautiful, I love string quilts they are always so colourful, I just recently made one, you can see it on my blog. The snow just started falling here today too.
Beautiful Quilt. I really like the quilting design.
I’m just trying out Film In The Fridge’s string tutorial for the first time too :) I agree with you about the paper, it’s really fiddly and time consuming! Thankfully I’m just making a table-topper with 4 blocks, so it won’t take me too long.
Your quilt looks great, lovely and Christmassy :)
Beautiful!
Toll ist die Decke! Frisch von den Farben!
lg Kristin
I love the fabrics you put together for this one. And the swirly quilting is perfect. :)
beautiful quilt and worth all the time removing paper! Love your kitties too!
beautiful quilt, and yes you are right, the quilting does look like snow falling, which it is doing here today too!! Great colours and fabric you chose
I love string quilts!! I have started one with scraps…but only have 4 blocks done..this may take a long time! :)
love your Christmas string quilt! I am planning to try string blocks sometime in the new year. I have a whole box of strings set aside for it :)
I’m having a Christmas linky & giveaway here: http://patchworkdream.blogspot.com/2012/11/deck-halls-with-us.html It would be fabulous if you would link up your quilt :)
Wow – beautiful quilt! It doesn’t look „stringy“, it looks meticulously planned – great colours, great movement!
Very pretty fun quilt. I love the colors.
definitely a nice addition to the winter season! I know what you mean about ripping off all the paper. I usually find it less stressful if I am watching TV while I do it.
Merry Christmas!
Totally beautiful!
Such a beautiful quilt! Congratulations on a lovely finish!! Whoop whoop!!
Beautiful! I love string quilts and I have one that I’m working on too.
Very cute, I love the colors! Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday. : )
